Xiaomi SU7 Max Endurance Test: 4,264 km in 24 Hours! | New Record for Mass-Produced EVs (2026)

Xiaomi's Next-Gen EV: A Record-Breaking 24-Hour Endurance Test

Xiaomi's electric vehicle (EV) division, Xiaomi EV, has achieved a remarkable feat with its next-generation SU7 sedan. The Max variant of the SU7 completed a 24-hour endurance test, covering an impressive 4,264 kilometers. This achievement surpasses the previous record set by Xpeng's P7 model, marking a significant milestone in mass-produced vehicle testing.

The test, conducted in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, China, showcased the vehicle's exceptional performance and range. During the test, the SU7 Max reached speeds of up to 240 kilometers per hour and operated continuously for 24 hours, including charging time, pushing its limits to the maximum possible range.

Xiaomi's V6s Plus motor, capable of 22,000 rpm and supporting a top speed of 265 km/h, powers the SU7 Max. Built on an 897-volt silicon carbide high-voltage electric platform, it houses a 101.7-kWh ternary lithium battery, boasting a peak charging rate of 5.2C and an 835-kilometer CLTC range per charge.

This achievement is a testament to Xiaomi's commitment to innovation and quality. The company's founder, chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun, described the test as akin to running a marathon at sprint speed, highlighting the vehicle's exceptional performance.

Xiaomi EV's Journey

Xiaomi EV was established in 2021 and officially launched its first model, the SU7 electric sedan, on March 28, 2024. Positioned as a competitor to Tesla's Model 3, the SU7 has gained popularity and success. In 2025, Xiaomi EV delivered 411,837 vehicles, bringing its cumulative deliveries to 551,308 units.

The SU7 delivered 258,164 units in 2025, while the YU7, Xiaomi's first electric SUV, delivered 153,673 units. Xiaomi EV's success has led to plans for expansion, with the company targeting 550,000 vehicle deliveries in 2026, representing a 34% growth from 2025.

Controversial Twist: The YU7's Range

While the SU7 Max's endurance test is impressive, it's worth noting a potential controversy. The YU7, Xiaomi's first electric SUV, has been criticized for its range. The YU7's 902-kilometer range, as mentioned in pre-sales information, is lower than the SU7's 835-kilometer CLTC range per charge. This discrepancy has sparked discussions among consumers and industry experts, raising questions about Xiaomi's range claims and the potential impact on its market positioning.

As Xiaomi EV continues to innovate and expand, the industry will be watching closely, eager to see how the company addresses these concerns and solidifies its position as a leading EV manufacturer.
