Get ready for a fashion revolution! The Retail Innovation Lab, a collaboration between NYFW Collections and SAP, is set to unveil a groundbreaking fusion of fashion and technology. But here's where it gets controversial...
This immersive experience, a physical space led by N4XT's NYFW Collections and SAP, promises to revolutionize the way we engage with fashion. On Thursday, audiences will have the chance to explore the relaunched Public School collection, but it's the enterprise-grade technology from SAP that steals the show.
Imagine a self-guided retail environment, where AI-powered solutions enhance every step of the shopping journey. This isn't just a store; it's an experience co-created with Public School's cofounders, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, to support their collection's relaunch.
Imad Izemrane, CEO of N4XT Experiences, explains, "New York Fashion Week has traditionally been a fragmented experience. The Retail Innovation Lab aims to change that, offering designers new technologies and platforms that connect their collection debuts with pre-orders and in-person customer experiences."
SAP's investment in cutting-edge fashion technology is a game-changer, especially for smaller brands. Izemrane adds, "This creates new opportunities for brands to access technology they may not have had before."
The Retail Innovation Lab will be open from Thursday to Saturday, demonstrating how immersive fashion experiences can be seamlessly integrated into a fast-paced setting. Audiences and designers can enjoy these experiences without the complexity of direct technology engagement.
Jan Gilg, Global President of Customer Success at Americas for SAP, shares, "The Retail Innovation Lab is a physical manifestation of our partnership with N4XT. It supports SAP's broader objective of expanding its role in fashion commerce and experience-driven industries, reinforcing its position in the competitive enterprise software landscape."
The partnership reflects a shared belief that innovation in fashion should enhance creativity and brand identity, operating seamlessly behind the scenes.
Public School's contribution to the lab is significant. Izemrane explains, "The experience was co-developed with the design duo, translating their creative vision into an immersive retail environment."
Chow and Osborne's creative vision for the space at High Line Nine brings their brand to life. From custom tailoring suites to decor, artwork, and music, every element reflects the brand's identity and the themes of their fall collection.
Public School, without a permanent store, found an opportunity to create a physical, immersive experience. Working with SAP, they shaped how their collection integrates with technology, from smart mirrors that connect runway looks to shoppable moments to digital Product Passports that tell each garment's story.
According to SAP's Gilg, the store operates on an AI-enabled, real-time data foundation, with seamless communication between inventory, pricing, content, and customer interactions. Screens are centrally managed, allowing for instant content updates. RFID-enabled smart mirrors enhance the fitting experience, and omnichannel pricing is managed centrally and updated in real-time.
Products carry digital passports detailing origins, materials, and lifecycles, supporting authenticity, transparency, and storytelling. RFID-enabled checkout provides a frictionless experience.
The lab will be open during designated hours, with exclusive preview moments for the press and industry. The concept is evolving and will expand later this year.
N4XT Experiences, an experiential live events company, has partnered with SAP for multiple seasons to advance the digital, retail, and experiential infrastructure supporting New York Fashion Week and NYFW Collections.
