The new ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter promises seamless screen sharing from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone directly to a TV, monitor, or projector. Forget fiddling with network settings; this is plug-and-play simplicity at its finest.
For a reasonable price of $150, you get a system comprising a USB-C transmitter dongle and a USB-A to HDMI receiver. Just plug the receiver into your display, and the transmitter into your device, and you're ready to go. The range is impressive, too, boasting a wireless reach of up to 131 feet (40 meters)!
The ConnectAir Wireless delivers a crisp 1080p resolution at 60Hz, with a latency of under 80ms, according to Belkin. That means smooth video playback and minimal lag – perfect for presentations, gaming, or streaming your favorite content. It's compatible with a wide range of devices, including USB-C devices that support DisplayPort Alt Mode. This includes Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS laptops, as well as tablets like the M1 and M2 iPad Pro and iPad Air, and even smartphones with video output capabilities.
And this is the part most people miss... Belkin also claims the system supports multi-user screen sharing, allowing up to 8 transmitters to connect simultaneously. Although it's not available for purchase just yet, it's expected to hit the shelves early this year.
